Library Resource Centre Mission Statement
The Cavendish Road State High School Library Resource Centre is central in providing a stimulating learning environment that supports the school's vision, and values and beliefs to provide an encouraging, enriching and challenging community of lifelong learners. We aim to:
Support - Enrich - Challenge
We will empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skilful researchers, and ethical users and creators of information. The library resource centre team achieves this by:
Providing a welcoming, flexible learning environment for the school community in which students can learn individually, in small groups and as a whole class.
Providing and managing an extensive and relevant collection of up-to-date print, AV, online resources and technologies to support and enrich the learning, co-curricular and recreational reading needs of the school community.
Collaborating with teachers to plan lessons and learning experiences which encourage and challenge students to become active and independent learners.
Nurturing, inspiring and celebrating the importance of reading for pleasure and information.
Valuing our skilled, committed and caring team - staff and students alike.
