A message from our Principal

17/08/2016
Dear Parents and Carers,

Our school’s highest priority is the health and welfare of our students, which includes health and welfare in the online environment. Accordingly, representatives of our Department’s Cybersafety Team and Child Safety Unit have been in contact with our school in relation to the recent media reports regarding the sharing of images on the internet.

If you have any concerns in relation to your child’s online behaviours I encourage you to contact the school for further action.

The Department has a Cybersafety and reputation management unit which provides support and expert advice regarding cybersafety and the investigation of online incidents. The team offers education services to students with regards to remaining safe and positive online.  Presently our school is considering how we may engage this team to provide the best support and advice to our school, students and parents following this incident.

The Department’s Cybersafety page contains general cybersafety and cyberbullying information and links to available resources for schools and students http://www.qld.gov.au/education/schools/health/cybersafety/pages/cybersafety-qss.html . These resources are also available for parents to access and provide an opportunity for parents to engage in conversations related to this important matter.

Should you have any questions that directly impact on your child please feel free to make contact with our school so we may provide assistance.

Corrine McMillan
Principal
